The electric dirt bike landscape has evolved dramatically since the Surron Light Bee hit the market in 2018. While lightweight electric models like the Light Bee and Talaria Sting are still massively popular, there’s a new niche category of eMotos that are smaller than a full-size dirt bike but bigger than the aforementioned lightweight eMotos. This is where the new Talaria Komodo lands.

Released in late 2025, the Komodo is the big brother of the Talaria range that currently features the X3 MX (XXX), MX4 and MX5 Pro. In the Talaria stable, however, the Komodo stands alone in terms of power, performance and size. This gives it major appeal to riders from many walks of life, including curious gas dirt bike riders looking at electric options.
The Komodo’s wide appeal can be attributed to many things. First off, it’s taller than the average eMoto (i.e. Surron Light Bee, Talaria Sting, E Ride Pro), making it attractive for experienced off-road riders familiar with taller bikes. It’s got 21/18-inch wheels like a regular gas dirt bike, and a seat height of 910 mm (35.8 in). It’s also lighter than a gas bike, weighing just 98 kg (218 lbs), which may interest older riders tired of their heavy dirt bike.

Power-wise, the Komodo boasts 32kW of peak power, setting it in a whole different realm than the avarage Talaria or Surron. With multiple riding modes and smooth power delivery, it’s easy to find the sweet spot for your skill level and riding conditions. The fully adjustable suspension is competition-grade and features 250 mm of travel (front and rear); regenerative braking and traction control are among the key electronic features.

Maintenance – or lack thereof – is another major draw for electric bikes. Electric powertrains eliminate the need for fuel, oil changes, engine rebuilds – even shifting. These may sound more like cons than pros to some dyed-in-the-wool, traditional gas bike enthusiasts, but they’ve turned plenty of riders onto the virtues of electric.
Make no mistake, Talaria built the Komodo for true off-road enthusiasts. Agility, handling and manouverability are more than just buzz words: they’re hallmarks of the Komodo’s compact chassis, responsive suspension and quality braking system. Factor in massive torque and reliability, and it’s hard to match the performance-per-dollar anywhere in the off-road segment. We’re not suggesting you sell your gas bike, but you should definitely take a good look at the Komodo.

The Talaria Komodo retails for $7,999 CAD and is available at more than 50 dealers across Canada. Check out https://talariacanada.com/ for more info and a map of all our dealers.
